(For soccer stars that are 3-years of age/ $25.00 Regular Registration)
We are excited to have you join us for the 2025 outdoor season, with this new soccer program offering the “Crossfield FC Tiny Thunder” program for 3-year olds. This program is designed as an introduction to play that will include a ball for 3-year olds not quite old enough for the Under-5 program.
This is a program that is meant for both the player AND parent to get involved in discovering the love for the sport of soccer through play. This means that a parent will be on the field working with their future soccer star through the session to both experience the joy and fun of playing with the soccer ball.
What does program focus on?
running,
jumping,
landing,
kicking,
throwing,
catching,
agility,
balance, and
coordination.
What does the Tiny Thunder program do for children?
Physical Development
Basic motor skills: running, jumping, stopping, turning, and kicking
Balance and coordination through movement games
Body awareness—learning how their bodies move with and without a ball
Cognitive Growth
Following simple instructions (1-2 steps)
Understanding basic game concepts like stop/go, start lines, and listening for cues
Exploring problem-solving through playful challenges (e.g., “How can you get past the cone monsters?”)
Social and Emotional Skills
Confidence building through participation and praise
Sharing, taking turns, and playing with others
Bonding with parents or caregivers (especially in parent-child sessions)
Imagination and Creativity
Many programs use themes (like superheroes, animals, or space adventures) to keep kids engaged
Activities involve make-believe play, transforming ordinary drills into exciting stories
Connection to Adults
Positive interaction with coaches and volunteers
Parent involvement in many activities (especially key for this age!)
Feeling safe, supported, and celebrated as part of a group
Players will be provided by Crossfield Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) with a “Crossfield FC Tiny Thunder” shirt that they get to keep and wear with pride.
Because this is a low impact age group, players will need to only have athletic shoes to wear to make it easier for them to move around the playing surface.
Parents should also wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes as well as these are sessions where the parents are involved with their soccer starts in helping them through the Crossfield Minor Soccer Association led activities. We have activity leaders who have fun sessions all prepared and will be working directly with the kids and parents as they discover their love for the ball.
